Zondervan Title Wins American Fiction Writers’ 2011 Carol Award for Suspense Novel for Second Consecutive Year

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 10, 2011 - Leading Christian publisher Zondervan announced today that its title Predator, by New York Times bestselling author Terri Blackstock, has won an American Fiction Writers' 2011 Carol Award. This marks Blackstock's second consecutive win for a Zondervan title. She won the same award last year for Intervention.

The Carol Awards were created to honor the best Christian fiction published by traditional publishing houses in the previous calendar year in 15 different categories. Over 1,000 submissions were received this year.

Released in May 2010, Predator is a stand-alone suspense novel about a killer stalking his prey through an online social network called 'GrapeVyne.' After her teenage sister is murdered, Krista Carmichael’s faith is shaken, making her question God’s justice and protection. Determined to find her sister’s murderer, Krista creates an online persona to bait the Predator. But when the killer turns his sights on her, the tables turn, and Krista must rely on God alone to protect her.

"Zondervan is incredibly proud of Terri for receiving this award two years in a row," said Sue Brower, executive editor for Zondervan. "Her page-turning suspense continues to keep readers up all night, unable to put her books down. This book really appealed to Terri’s fans as it tackles a topic that is particularly relevant and timely given the numerous news headlines about the issue of cyber safety. In Predator, Terri addresses this issue in an extremely well-written, entertaining, and inspirational manner.”

Terri Blackstock (www.terriblackstock.com) has sold six million books worldwide and is a New York Times bestseller. She is the Christy award-winning author of Intervention and Double Minds, as well as such series as Cape Refuge, Newpointe 911, the SunCoast Chronicles, and the Restoration Series. Blackstock’s newest novel, Shadow in Serenity, released just last week.
