Jeanne-Marie Bouvier de la Motte-Guyon

Jeanne-Marie Bouvier de la Motte-Guyon was known simply as “Madame Guyon”, she lived all her life in France and she was considered a mystic who practiced stillness and meditation, wrote many books, poems and influenced Francois Fenelon, who was one of her most famous disciples, directly. Jeanne Guyon and her writings have played an important part in the lives of more famous Christians than possibly any other writer, for example: Watchman Nee made sure that this book was translated to Chinese and put it within reach of all the new converts in the congregation, “The small flock”’; Count Zinzendorf; Juan Wesley; the Quakers; Hudson Taylor, all of them recommended it favorably to the believers of each period.
